Ravinia Elementary PTO Committees

Bingo Night
Chair:   Liz Ganoach

Organizes the Ravinia Bingo Night fundraiser (November 15th).   Volunteers needed to run bingo night, purchase prizes, organize registration, food etc. 

Day of Service
Chair:   Melissa Block

Organize the February 14th Day of Service project.  Assist with service idea and supplies for all classrooms.  

Book Fair/Lunch with a Loved One
Chair:   Morgan Rosenberg/Amy Eisenberg

Volunteers needed to assist with working the book fair along with setup and cleanup.  The book fair is May 5th and 6th.  Setup will be on May 4th. 

District 112 Foundation Liaison
Chair:   Morgan Rosenberg

This person helps to promote the annual Fun(d) Run and speaks about the Scholarship Foundation at school Open House events.

5th Grade Committee
Chair:   Amy Eisenberg

Organize all 5th grade events including Rocky's breakfast, 5th grade picnic, and 5th grade party. 

Chair:   Biz Fox

Notify parents and report celebration book purchases with the school librarian on a monthly basis. The school librarian takes care of having children select the books during their celebration month and place a commemorative book plate in it.

Lunch Program
Chair:   Morgan Rosenberg, Lindy Rosenberg

Coordinate volunteers, vendors, and online ordering process for the hot lunch program. 

New Parent Liaison
Chair:   Melissa Block

Serves as the liaison between new families entering Ravinia (new kindergarten families or families that have moved to the area) and the school.

Newcomers/Welcome Signs
Chair:   Kim Bullock

Organize and distribute Ravinia welcome signs to new families. 

Room Parents
Chair:   Rebecca Gotto

Selects and oversees class room parents.  Hosts a room parent meeting to explain and distribute the room parent handbook.  Primary contact with room parents throughout the year.

School Supplies
Chair:   Ginny Fisk

Organize the School Supply purchasing program that allows parents to order school supplies by grade level. The supply kits are offered for purchase online via an outsourced vendor. Kits are delivered directly to classrooms the week before school starts. Active times for this position are August: distributing school supply kits to classrooms; January: Organize updated supply lists from teachers and send to vendor; Early April: Set up online ordering link and notify parents through PTO newsletter that ordering period is open.


Social And Hospitality
Chair:   Amy Scher & Sonia Patterson

Organize teacher meals for first day of school, conferences, and teacher appreciation week events.  Volunteers needed for teacher appreciation week (Week of May 4th)

Spirit Wear
Chair:   Irit Hotle

Help design, create, and distribute Ravinia's spiritwear.  

Chair:   Amy Eisenberg, Laurie Wurster, Debbie Raff

Setup, design, and photograph throughout the year for the Ravinia yearbook.  Computer and graphic design skills are helpful. Volunteers needed to shadow the committee this year and take over for 2020/21 school year.
